What's the one thing that many people can't live without when traveling? If you are taking a cruise on Carnival, it is important to keep in mind that not all rooms or ships offer a hair dryer. As such, you might have to bring your own.
Hair Dryers on Ships
Personal grooming devices in good working order, such as hair dryers, curling irons and shavers, are allowed on all Carnival ships. The ship you choose for your cruise and the type of room you book determine if a hair dryer is included as part of that room's amenity package.
- Hair dryers (1250 watt) can be found in the bathroom, on the desk, or on the vanity in the staterooms and suites on the following Carnival Cruise Ships: Carnival Breeze, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Dream, Carnival Elation, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Glory, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Legend, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Magic, Carnival Miracle, Carnival Pride, Carnival Spirit, Carnival Splendor, Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Triumph, Carnival Valor, Carnival Victory and Carnival Vista.
- A 1250 watt hair dryer is provided only in the Grand Suites and Extended Balcony Suites on the following ships: Carnival Ecstasy, Carnival Fantasy, Carnival Fascination, Carnival Imagination and Carnival Inspiration.
- If you are on a ship that provides hair dryers but your room does not have one, ask the room steward to provide you with one. If available, a hair dryer will be brought to you at no charge.
- If you are on a ship that does not provide hair dryers, such as the Carnival Paradise and Carnival Sensation, you will have to bring your own personal hair dryer because the ship does not have them on board.
Bringing a Hair Dryer
Packing for a vacation can be challenging because of weight and baggage limitations, especially if you have to fly to your port of departure. There are hair dryers on the market that are made specifically for travel. Make sure the one you select is dual voltage for international travel, and is small, light and powerful. Hair dryers with several speed settings come in handy for quick touch up jobs too.
Travel Hair Dryers
Of the ten best ceramic hair dryers recommended by Ezvid, the one best suited for travel is the VAV 108 with its compact size and lightweight body. Total Beauty reviewed the top seven hair dryers for travel, ranging in price from $14.99 for the Remington Chrome Compact Dryer to the T3 Featherweight Compact Folding Hair Dryer for $150.
If your hair style is important to you on vacation, confirm that hair dryers are available in the room you book. If you are unsure about whether your room will have a hair dryer, just ask the cruise line or your travel agent to confirm availability and reserve one for your stay. Most ships in the Carnival fleet have hair dryers in their staterooms and suites. If you book a budget room or choose a ship that does not offer a hair drier, it is best to bring your own in order to save time and the hassle of trying to obtain one once on board.
