Shuttles

Many hotels have shuttles that run from the hotel to the terminal and then from the terminal to the hotel. They offer transportation to the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport as well. Inclusive Vacation Packages

Cruise-faring passengers who book a hotel stay through the cruise line's pre and post-cruise vacation packages often have transportation provided to and from the hotel. This is a free service offered by the cruise line. Check with your cruise line or cruise travel agent to see if this is included in your vacation package.

Some packages, called Air/Sea Packages, offer transportation from the airport to the cruise terminal and back to the airport once the cruise ends.

Taxis

If your particular package doesn't have transportation included, you can take a taxi from the terminal to the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport for about $20 including gratuity. This is considered the least expensive mode of transportation from the terminal to the airport. One word of caution: make sure the taxi has a meter. Otherwise, the driver, knowing that you are a tourist, might take advantage of you and charge you more than the going fare.

Tri County Transportation/Airport Express

Tri County Transportation/Airport Express, the official transportation provider at the airport, has on-demand shared rides, private town cars, and vans available. You can find them at the lower level curbside of the airport. Their representatives wear white shirts with Airport Express written in red. Call (954) 561-8888 for reservations after you have disembarked and collected your luggage.

Car Rentals

Most car rental firms are licensed to provide free shuttle service to and from the terminals to the Rental Car Center located at Fort Lauderdale. Here you can rent a car from Enterprise, Budget, Hertz or Thrifty. In addition to taking your cruise, you may want to explore the sights in Fort Lauderdale and nearby cities. Miami is only about 30 miles away. According to the locals, renting a car is the best way to get around if you want to travel any distance. Priceline is always ready to assist you so that you can find the deal to fit your budget.

Your Own Vehicle

Convenient parking for private automobiles is available at both the Northport and Midport parking garages. The rates in these secure and well-lit garages run $3 for the first hour and $6 for 1-5 hours. After that, each hour is charged at $1. The maximum fee for a day is $15 ($19 for oversized vehicles). If you need another location in which to park, Park 'n Fly is also available, with shuttle bus service to the cruise terminals.

Limousine Services

All Points Limousine provides professional limousine services to and from the several cruise ship terminal locations in South Florida, including Fort Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. This is one way to travel in style, especially if you aren't worried about being economical.
