While some of the eateries offer casual dining, such as the Boardwalk Cafe, where you can sit on deck in your swimsuit or shorts, and Sir Samuels, a breakfast eatery at day and a bar at night, other restaurants like the Britannia, Queens Grill, and Princess Grill emphasize a dress code.

Entertainment

Entertainment abounds, and some of these events have a strict dress code where gentlemen guests must wear tuxedos or suits and ties. Ladies wear beaded gowns. Soirees are elegant as dancers swirl across the large ballroom floor in the Queens Room. The Royal Court Theatre holds shows and even for these events, formal wear is required. The beauty of all this elegance does get captured on film. Besides the typical photo of each passenger boarding the vessel on the first day of the cruise, the QM2 has at least eleven photographers. The photographers, employed by Images, a company based in the Cayman Islands, provide this service to the voyaging guests. The photographers normally do a six-to-eight month stint on the QM2 before taking a vacation, and then resume their duties. During their stint they may take up to 20,000 photos of the ship and guests.

Photos

Kodak 14 MP cameras are used and the pictures are developed into 8 x 10 prints. The film is sent to the ship's lab where the pictures are processed. Passengers can actually see their own images on the television in their stateroom. Prints can be ordered from either the stateroom TV or by viewing the prints in the QM2's photo gallery, called the Images Photo Gallery. The prints sell for $27.50 each. For additional fees, they can be sent via email to friends and family, right from the ship!
