For those interested in a short ride on a ship, consider a Port Canaveral Florida day cruise. This is one way to experience the luxury of a cruise without spending much money or time aboard.

Types of Port Canaveral Florida Day Cruises

With over 4 million people boarding ships at six terminals, Port Canaveral, Florida, is the second busiest cruise port in the world.

Heading to exciting locations like the Bahamas, the western Caribbean, and the eastern Caribbean, these popular cruise lines sail from this port each week: Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Disney.

However, if you want to enjoy entertainment and food while sailing the seas but don't have time or money for a lengthy voyage, consider a cruise that isn't going anywhere. Board a liner that will take you out to sea for three to six hours and then back to the same port again. There are two casino lines to choose from:

  • Sterling Casino Line's Ambassador II
  • Suncruz Casino's Suncruz XII

Per Florida gaming regulations, the ship must be three miles from shore before the gaming can begin.

Before You Board the Sterling Casino Line

Board for free! Does this sound real? You can even park your car for free. If you've arrived in Florida by air and don't have access to a car, there is a bus available to pick you up from your hotel.

Like with any cruise, reservations secure your spot on the ship. Be sure to bring a picture I.D. You can embark on this liner at Terminal 2B for the cruise that departs at 11 AM or at 7 PM.

What to Expect

The Sterling Casino, with a capacity of 1,800 persons, has much to offer. The staff recommends that you dress casually and comfortably; you can leave your evening gown and suit at home.

  • Games

Aboard the ship you can play your favorite casino games -- roulette, blackjack, craps, Caribbean stud poker, six big wheel, and mini baccarat. Over one thousand varieties of slot machines are also available for your enjoyment.

  • Entertainment

In the Show Lounge, you will hear music and singers -- Starz On Stage -- who look and sound like the famous icons from the past, including Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe. In the Tiki Bar Lounge, listen to Caribbean steel drum music, and then stroll onto one of the five spacious decks for a view of the ocean. Other options include getting a massage or browsing the gift shop.

  • Food

Throughout the cruise, you can eat an assortment of goodies from the free buffet. Deli meats, cheeses, crackers, breads, fruit, vegetables, and desserts are offered. Pepsi and iced tea is also free. If you want more variety, you can purchase some food at The Pizza Gallery which serves pizza, hot dogs, salads and sub sandwiches.

Group Reservations

For those with a large group or wanting to celebrate a reunion, birthday, anniversary, or other festive event in one of the hospitality suites, the liner can accommodate your booking needs. They will cater to your food selections as well as your entertainment desires.

Before You Board the SunCruz Liner

This 1,200 person capacity casino liner offers free parking for its guests in a designated area at The Cove. There is also a bus service to transport you from many counties to the terminal. You are required to bring a photo I.D. This liner allows 18 year-olds on board, and although they aren't permitted to drink, they are allowed to gamble.

There are two cruises a day, each lasting four hours. You may board at 11 AM or 7 PM.
